About

Built for the labs that get ignored.

Most ELN buyers in academic biology and small-to-midsize pharma R&D end up choosing between a tool that's too heavy (built for GxP-regulated pharma manufacturing) and a tool that's too thin (a generic note-taking app with a wet-lab template). Glacivis is the in-between that didn't exist: structured enough to actually represent experiments and inventory, light enough to run on your laptop offline, and serious enough about data ownership that your DPO can verify the EU jurisdiction claim from a single config file.

Who we build for

The first wave of Glacivis users are academic biology labs — molecular biology, cell biology, neurobiology, immunology — and pharma R&D wet labs at the early-discovery stage where flexibility still matters and Part 11 doesn't apply yet. Both groups want the same things: real experiment structure, real attachment handling, real search, fast offline work, and the ability to walk away from a vendor without losing their data.

What we won't ship

  • A US-region deployment. EU jurisdiction is a structural choice, not a compliance afterthought.
  • An AI feature whose responses don't cite the sources they consulted.
  • A vendor-lock-in-by-default data path. Local SQLite + per-entity export today; .eln RO-Crate bulk export Q3 2026.
  • Marketing pages with prices we haven't decided on yet. When a paid tier ships, the pricing page will say so — with the actual price.

Who's behind it

Founder name and bio TBD — one-paragraph background covering academic-biology domain experience and software-engineering background. Will be filled in by the founder before public launch.

Legal entity TBD — the operating entity will be named in this section once Task 13 (legal entity formation) is complete. For now, the publishing entity for this site and the desktop app is the founding individual.
